Was thrilled of a
UVA interview invite a while back until finding out there’s an on-campus only rule. Clear and conspicuous notice to it should've been on the Darden Consortium supplement. If it were, this low income Latino lawyer wouldn't have applied.
In the words of Admiral Ackbar, “
it’s a trap!” Lower multiple application fees and the Consortium Fellowship were the bait. Getting an interview invite felt like winning a lottery. But, to claim the prize, one must incur travel expenses. Seems really sketchy.
After not spending my money to be sold a
timeshare in Virginia during a visit, I ended up in a good spot. First, Yale and Cornell are Consortium schools letting me to do Skype interviews. Second, I applied for free to Vandy and was offered a full scholarship.
