Hey yall,
In addition to those schools I've already applied to, I'm considering Texas and Georgia Tech as well. I don't want to post too much of my profile, but it's safe to say I'm well within the middle 80% on all accounts for both schools (some might consider these my "safety" schools). I've done extensive research on both, but I'm still at a bit of an impasse.
Current work: relationship management, tech startup, "big data" space
Desired future work: strategy/BD at tech startup OR entrepreneurship in analytics space OR tech vc
GT offers connections to a superb engineering school, is closer to family, and just got a fat $50mil donation that could help bump up the school's stature a bit.
McCombs has generally higher rankings across the board and is connected with the rapidly growing tech ecosystem in Austin.
I guess I'm just curious if there are other pluses (or minuses) I should be considering. Any thoughts?
Note: I don't want to apply to both b/c of a variety of factors (mostly time to prep app and not overtaxing recommenders), so that isn't an option.

When in doubt, go with the better school. GT generally isn't mentioned in the same breath as McCombs, and Texas' engineering school isn't exactly chopped liver.
Not sure where your goals in tech lie, but McCombs actually recruits pretty well at San Francisco tech companies given their status as a "regional" school.

Just found out that there are no scholarships available for UT Round 3 (I probably should have attended an admissions chat and asked, so that's on me). That should make the decision easier, though I feel like Austin would be a great place. Thanks for the help, CobraKai.
