Hi Abhinav

Read your story and really I have the same story. I have appeared twice in gmat(630 & 590) but my scores are very less. I am really concerned about improving my verbal score. I believe i am in good in SC but CR & RC i dont understand how to improve on those lines. For SC we have rules which we can grasp and do well but how to overcome CR & RC. I am really worried because unless we get into 30's in verbal it will a same story again.
Please provide me some guidance in case you get any suggestions to improve on Verbal Part.

Regards

Rohit

Hi nandinibasu27,

How have you scored on your last few CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)? After reviewing this latest CAT, do you have a better sense of WHY you're getting questions wrong? With these last few days, you shouldn't plan to do too much work (NO CRAMMING! and no more CATs), but you can do some review and work to keep the little mistakes from happening.

Hi Rich,
Thanks a lot for the helpful tips. As you can see, i managed to score decently in the final GMAT (710). Though i didnt get as much as i had hoped in the verbal section, yet at least i have managed to meet the minimum requirements of the colleges i intend to apply to.
Now i just hope i can get through to in the colleges i intend to take admission in
Hoping for the best!!!

Hi nandinibasu27,

A 710/Q49 is an outstanding score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), so you should apply to any Business Schools that interest you.

1) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
2) When are you planning to apply?

Hey Rich...
it feels good to be validated :)
well, I am a Chartered Accountant by profession and have 5 years work experience. I want to specialize in Finance, but then honestly, i also want to keep my options open. and yeah..there is this whole issue of not wanting to devote 2 years for MBA...
so...what would you suggest? i have picked up IE, HKUST, NUS, NTU and ISB as my options...
about when..i'd like to start as soon as possible..maybe by 2016...dont wanna wait too long...

Regards,
Nandini

Hi Nandini,

Since you know which Schools you're interested in, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
