Just doing like this : 1st graders (a), 2nd graders (b), 3rd graders (c), and 4th graders (d) for ease.

a/b = 3/4.
b/d = 8/5
c/d= 3/2.
a/c = ??

a/c = a/b * b/d * d/c
= 3/4 * 8/5 * 2/3
a/c = 4/5 . .

So this satisfied by a= 12, and b = 15 . .

Hi,

Multiplying the ratios to get ratio of 1st graders: 3rd graders = 4:5.
This can be clearly seen for values 12:15.Hence 1st Graders = 12 & 3rd Graders = 15 out of the given set of values.

1st grade/2nd grade * 2nd grade/4th grade * 4th grade/3rd grade = 4/5

So 12,15 supports the above answer
