I will start off by saying that scoring a 750 is not easy. If it is for you, than you started off at a much better place than me. My first Gmat I scored a 590 37/35 or something around there. My secon test was 680 my third 700 and my last was an awesome 750!!!
Take ways:
Set your target score and score above that on a practice test before you take the real thing:
First of all, you probably won't magically score better on T day than on any other day that you were at home in your own room, on your own computer, using your own paper and own pencil. (Rather Unlikely and easy to figure out for some one smart enough to be shooting for a 700+ gmat)
Secondly, since you won't be at your house, on your computer, using your pencil and paper, you will probably be subjected to a little bit of stress. Knowing you already smashed through your barrier a few times on a p-test will give you the confidence to keep moving on the real thing.
- Practice like you paly:
If you are taking the exam on a saturday at 8 am , well , take your practice tests on saturdays at 8 am.
I think this will help a ton on test day. Also, take the breaks and have a snack or some water. Take the time to let your brain reset. Also, test under real conditions. DO NOT skip the IR or Essay. This is part of the test day struggle. You are basically giving your brain a hour to 1 1/2 hour break from what the real thing is going to be like. Thats like just swimming before a triathalon and then wonderring why the running was so hard....
I even went as far as using only yellow graph paper and fine point sharpies to give me the most realistic testing conditions on my practice tests. It also makes you learn how to use the graph paper to your advantage in regards to time managment and space management on the paper. The GMAT doesn't just test math and english skills. It is a lesson in time managment. Using everything you can to help you manage time is a must. I thought I managed it well but ran out of time on the math and engilsh I had to geuss on 4 questions for each!!!
Do not tiressly work on the things you are best at:
I know we all love to work on the section we are best at . Well that doesnt help when you get to the test. Most people are fairly good at the math. As you get closer to the 50 mark your returns are marginally smaller. Law of diminishing returns. So, if this is the case work on the verbal!!!! Verbal scores above 42 will make your score sky-rocket. I went from a 46Q / 39V 700 to a 49Q/42V in a month. The big mover there was the 42V. Thursdays with ron helped me a ton and I took some of the best advice from him. Most of us will score above 45 on the math but the majority will be under 45 in verbal. If you switch the scores you actually get a higher score...
Use every resource available:
I used the economist , gmat club test, knewton and any free test I could get my hands on. I will say that gmatprep is the most realilistic but there are a ton of good sources out there. Use them dont waste money .
Last Know your limits:
I know I am not the smartest person in the world. But, I also know that realitively speaking I am in a pretty high caliber group of people. I never expected to reach 750. I just wanted a 650 but once that was so easy I said hey I can do 700, then once that was easy I said hey I can break 750, which i did on a p-test 780 was my highest. But at 750 I said hey thats pretty close. I see sooooo many people on here that think, I deserve a 750+ or I know I am smarter than this. Well maybe you aren't. At some point the return is minimal for all the studying you are putting in. Go write some good essays or volunteer at a non-profit or get a promotion. This is just one part of the app. So find your limit and accept that limit. Your are more than the gmat score that prints out at the end of the test.

Appreciate the advice on practice how you play.. My test is at 8am on a Monday, and I need to run a practice test at that time.
