Hello all,
So, after conquering two of my top 2 choice schools, now there is a bigger hurdle it seems.
I am currently on H1 visa and my employer had filed for an I140 sometime back which got approved. Now, am not really concerned about the Green Card at all, as longer term want to work in India.
But, since my company had filed for an I140, it looks like it shows immigration intent and hence conversion to F1 might be an issue. There was an interesting post last year by a successful applicant : h1-f1-conversion-general-student-visa-questions-87958-120.html#p1022496
Wanted to check how many people have gone through this process and does it really kill the whole risk? Can't think of any alternative than what is outlined here. Seems like many students went through the above process, but didn't report whether they were successful or not. Do you know of any seniors who can chime in with their experience?
