Hi,
I have been reading this forum alott and it has really helped me.
GmatClub-you rock!!!!:-D I wanted advice on my preperation. I am a BBA student and into my last year of graduation. I have been studying for the GMAT since the past 2 months. I have studied for 250 hours(i had a lot of sources to study the same thing so alott of overlapping) . I have studied all the Manhattan guides thoroughly . I started at 580( Manhattan free test) and 690(Gmat pen-paper test). Last week, I gave 4 Kaplan GMAT Cats that come free with Premier 2014 book, all in the same week cuz my account was expiring. Here are my scores:
Cat 1- 670 (84 PERCENTILE) Quant-50(92 percenitle, 26/37 correct) , Verbal-31(58 percentile, 24/41 correct)
Cat 2- 640 (73 PERCENTILE) Quant-49(85 percenitle,20/37 correct), Verbal-31(58 percentile, 22/41 correct)
Cat 3- 630 (72 PERCENTILE) Quant-49(85 percenitle, 24,37 correct), Verbal-31(58 percentile, 18/41 correct)
Cat 4- 630 (72 PERCENTILE) Quant-49(85 percenitle, 22/37 correct), Verbal-31(58 percentile, 20/41 correct) : Had to skip 8 RC questions-not bec of timing, but because my account was expiring in a few minutes.
All the questions that i got wrong were of high level of difficulty and few silly mistakes. As you can see I am really bad at Verbal. I was a little shocked because i have completed all the OG verbal with 82% accuracy. My target is 720.
My questions are :
1.
How can I improve verbal? I have a
Magoosh account. Is
magoosh good for verbal spcifically? I also heard that
gmatclub tests are good but I am like broke now. Are they really worth it?
2.
Is a quant score of 49-50 good enough for 720 (on kaplan)? So that i can concentrate more on verbal.
3. Keeping in mind where i am at now and my target score of 720,
should i book the date exactly one month from now?(Because that is pretty much the only one available in the next 2 months)
I am stuck. Your advice will be of great help. Thanks.
