Hi Mystery girl,

Hope you are doing great and well. Just want to touch base with you in regards to how's your preparation going towards GMAT exam. I recently took my exam and I doomed my exam especially on verbal. I wonder if you are interested in online study just in case if you are still preparing for your exam. My desire score is to get 40+ in verbal and I do know that it requires a lot of effort and hardwork, and I am willing to do it. Please let me know if you are interested. Here is my email id for further communication : [email protected]
BTW do you live in US? I live in US just in case for study timing.

Thank you
krish

Hi All,

I am planning to take my first GMAT attempt in another 15 days or so.. I have taken 3 official mocks and I am consistently scoring low on verbal.. I am unable to cross the V28 mark.. My quant score is between Q47-Q50. I did write one official mock yesterday and I scored Q50,V25,IR-3 and I am disheartened. Any suggestions to improve the verbal score in 15 days time?

One thing I have observed is I am skimming through the prompts as I am running short of time for the last 6-8 verbal questions... Of the three mocks taken, last 4-5 questions were RC questions..

Any response will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Shagufta02,

To start, you will likely receive more of a response if you start your own post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this one, which is almost 6 years old). Many GMATers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,

Thanks for your response! I just stumbled upon this post and couldn't resist to hit the reply.. Anyway I have started a new thread.

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
-- I have started preparing from Mid May.. I put 15 hours a week until July end. In Aug, I could not study in the last week(Approx 8-10 days) because of personal reasons..

2) What study materials have you used so far?
-- So far I have completed the OG 2021(RCs still in progress) Also, I have exhausted all the questions from Magoosh Premium. I currently do work on questions from GMAT club. I do not have any other materials apart from these..

3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)
--I wrote my mocks in a duration of 1 month..
Mock 1- 620(Q49, V28)--Taken on 16th July
Mock 2- 600(Q47, V25)--Taken on 21st July
Mock 3- 610(Q50, V25)--Taken on 14th Aug( Didnt prepare for a week before writing this one)

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
-- To cross 700
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
-- Just for background, I have 9.08/10 CGPA, I am an engineer and currently working in IT Project Management. I have 3 years of Java developer experience and almost a year and half of IT Project Management experience.
I am targeting for Rotman, IE and Imperial in ambitious category. ESADE,UBC Sauder, Manchester, SMU.. Trying to go for Round 1 at the moment..

Thanks in Advance!
