Hey,
So I took my GMAT today and scored a 690 (Q49, V34). In all honesty, I was quite shocked. I had consistently been scoring 730+ in all my practice tests.
Here are my scores:
1. GMATPrep1: 710 (Q49, V38)
2. GMATPrep 2: 740 (Q49, V41)
3. GMATPrep 3: 730 (Q49, V40)
4. GMATPrep 4: 770 (Q50, V44)
5. GMATPrep 1 (Retake): 750 (Q50, V42)
6. GMATPrep 2 (Retake): 760 (Q51, V41)
GMAT : 690 (Q49, V34)
To be honest, I found the Quant section very different from any practice materials I'd used, and even the GMATPrep tests. I think that affected my verbal scores, since I couldn't stop thinking about it. Also, Verbal section was very different from the kind of questions I'd practiced too - and in all my practice tests, I finished my questions on time. I really think this score does not reflect my real capability and the hard work I've put in. I was expected at least a 710, which was the score I got in my very first practice test when I had not even prepared that much.
But its just that, I'm a little concerned about the amount of time it will take, and am trying to decide whether its worth the retake.
Also, I'm a final year undergraduate student (non-engineering). I'm not looking to apply to MBA programs. Looking to apply for MSF programs at WUSTL, USC and UT Austin, and Masters in management programs at USC, Duke.
My college % is around 89-90 % (which is pretty good, I believe) and I have decent eca's too.
Is it worth the retake? Or should I concentrate on other parts of application instead? Please help me out.
