Twenty percent of Country Y's yearly exports come from fruit exports. One-sixth of all fruit exports from Country Y are orange exports. If country Y generates $4.25 million from its orange exports, how much money does it generate from its yearly total of exports?

A) $21.25m
B) $25.5m
C) $106.25m
D) $127.5m
E) $153m

2/10*1/6*(total) = 4.25

1/30*(total) = 4.25

(total) = 4.25*30 = 127.5

Answer: D.
Thank you for your help Bunuel. I see its a pretty straightforward solution. thanks

Let the total exports be x
Fruit exports =20x/100=x/5.
Orange exports = (1/6)(x/5)=$4.25m
Therefore x=$127.5m
Answer D
Thanks Vardhanindaram! Thanks also for breaking it down. I was able to solve it on my own to the thord stop 1/6 of 1/5 but for some reason got stuck there. Thank you :-D

income(.20) = fr (income from fruit)

fr (1/6) = 4.25 therefore 4.25 x 6 = fr
2550= fr

income(.20)= 2550
income= 2550/.20
income= 127.5 million

Thus
"D"

Let total Exports be 60
Fruit Exports = 12
Orange Exports = 2

Now, if 2 represents - $4.25
So, 1 represents - $ \(\frac{4.25}{2}\)
And, 60 represents - $ \(\frac{4.25}{2}\)*60 = $ 127.5

Thus, answer will be (D)

We are given that twenty percent of Country Y's yearly exports come from fruit exports.

If we let n = the total value of exports, we have:

0.2n = fruit exports

We are also given that 1/6 of all fruit exports are orange exports; thus:

(1/6)(0.2n) = orange exports

(1/6)(0.2n) = 4,250,000

0.2n = 25,500,000

n = 127,500,000

Answer: D
