This refers to either an online study group or in person.
I've tried meeting up with people now with the idea that explaining solutions to each other might cement the concepts into the brain more. Teaching is the best method of learning, right? However, every time I have met a study group I have found it slow. It's always been faster and easier for me to study alone, but the GMAT has so much information to be retained. Has anyone any techniques to get a study group to work efficiently?

Hey,
I've now been studying with a couple of my friends for a few weeks. Some days it works, some days it doesn't.
I think the problem is that we didn't come with a clear plan right from the beginning.
It would work best if you made a very detailed plan, like the stydy times vs. time discussing the questions and topics with the group.
You might even want to study like you would alone, but then at the end of the day, discuss all the topics briefly with the group, and maybe do a summary of the topics with the group together.
We're still in the very start, but we made a plan, and after that it's been going much better!

I've tried studying with a friend and while it does help in understanding many concepts, it's also frustratingly slow and demands a lot of planning beforehand. I feel that group studies work best when you are 5-6 months away from taking the test.
