The area of a triangle, in square meters, is 7/3 times the height in meters, and it is also 13/5 times the base, in meters.

In the table below, select a value for the height and value for the base, where both are measured in meters, so that the two values are jointly consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.

We are given Area = (7/3) *h = (13/5) * b

or, (7/3)*h = (13/5) * b

or h = (39/35) * b

Substitute b = 14/3, we will get h = 26/5.

mikemcgarry , please confirm whether the answer for the height you have added is correct. I am getting h = 26/5.

You got the correct answer. That was a typo on my part, and I just corrected it. Mike :-)

the answer is:

area of triangle= (1/2)*(base)*(height) ---> (1/2)*b*h

now area of triangle=(7/3)*h (given)
1/2*b*h=7/3*h
=>b=14/3

also,

area of triangle=(13/5)*b (given)
(1/2)*b*h=(13/5)*b
=> h=26/5

hence base= 14/3 and height 26/5
