Hi KalyaniJyotsna,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi,
I am going to start my gmat preparation by my own. I am planning to attend the exam around December 2017.. I am going to buy OG2018 through amazon.. shall I prep with manhattan 5th edition or else is it necessary to buy manhattan 6th edition?

Thank you for this club.. a great resource for prep..

Thank you :-)

I would recommend to get 6th edition of MGMAT Sentence correction. IMO, it is organized much better than 5th edition.
Also, consider getting PowerScore CR bible, it's one of the best books for critical reasoning setion.

Hi

Both Editions are good, if you have both edition go with 6th edition but if you have to pay additional sum of money for 6th edition then 5th is all right

Good Luck

Hi KalyaniJyotsna,

With each edition the guides have only gotten better. Yes there have been some drastic changes especially in the Sentence Correction, Reading comprehension and Number Properties guides in that they have introduced some new strategies and added some new concepts which are very helpful. If you are on a budget, you can purchase the aforementioned guides. If, however, you do not mind spending, go with the new guides and you will not be disappointed. Plus you will get access to all 6 MGMAT tests and online question bank with each guide, which is great. To complement your guides, I would also encourage you to purchase not only the latest version of OG but also the Quant and verbal review for some great additional practice. Hope this helps. All the best.

I just ordered OG2019 and will get them in another week. I was planning to buy Manhattan GMAT complete strategy guide 6th edition. But I noticed that 6th Edition came out in 2014. Is it too old to consider for preparations or should I buy it? I am not sure if there have been any changes in GMAT since then.
Kindly Help.

The only substantial change to the GMAT during that time was the (very recent) reduction in the number of questions. Aside from reading this:

https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/blog ... g-shorter/

and/or this:

https://www.mba.com/us/frequently-asked ... -exam.aspx

You should be totally fine with the 6th edition strategy guides. :)

I just started studying from MGMAT 4th edition and OG 12th edition. But recently i got MGMAT 6th edition and the content seems less in the newer edition. Also, there are more advanced topics in 4th edition. please guide which should i be looking at?

Also, is there a link where the 6th edition MGMAT and OG questions are linked by topic
