In the coordinate plane (pictured above), Line J has a slope of m. Does Line J pass through Quadrant III?
(1) 1 < m < 3
(2) Line J passes through point (0,6)

I would go with option A and here is why.
St1 tells us that slope is between 1 and 3, we don't need exact value, we just conclude that slope is positive, which means that slope is "rising" from left to right and no matter how, the line will cross quadrant 3.
St 2 tells us that line passes thru 0,6, but line can be dropping from quadrant 2 to 3, in this case answer is no. Likewise, line can rise from quadrant 3 to 2, in this case answer is Yes. Since we get two or more answers, this statement alone is not sufficient leaving us with answer choice A.

Slope of X axis =0 & slope of y axis=ND . Thus any line which do not have slope equal to 0 or ND must pass through 3 quadrants.
(1) 1 < m < 3 ==> +ve slope ---> always pass through QI & QIII........Thus Sufficient
(2) Line J passes through point (0,6) ---- this line could be ll to x axis , y axis itself a line with +ve slope , or a line with -ve slope ........Thus Insufficient
Hence , I would go with option A.
