Hey guys, I just gave a official Gmat prep mock and got a 500 score with a Q38 and V20 split
Need advice on which is the best prep course for a 200+ points improvement.

You should better focus on a solid study plan with sound strategy. Here is a study plan for you

Best Books

For Concept Learning

Manhattan Quant Guides
Manhattan Verbal Guides
For CR: The Powerscore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible
For RC: Aristotle RC Grail

For Practice

The Official Guide for GMAT 2015-19
The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review 2015-19
The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review 2015-19

Best Courses (Budget)

1. e-GMAT
2. Empower GMAT
2. Math Revolution (Only Math)

You can start with Quant or Verbal which suits you. If you have started with Quant then Start with the Arithmetic but if started with verbal then start first with Sentence correction. One month for learning Quant concepts and one month for practicing question and same practice for Verbal. During you Practicing question don't forget to make an error log to track your weak areas after practice. Once you know your weak areas revise your Concepts related to those areas and do some more Practice. 6-8 CATs are enough for practice the real tests. Make your Stamina for sitting 3 hours in the test and don't study more than 2 hours in one sit and 4 hours per day

Top CATs for Practice

1. Official GMAC CATs
2. Manhattan CATs
3. Kaplan CATs
4. GMAT Club Quant CATs

Hi man,

I think first of all, don't make a mistake like I did, thinking that 2 months will be enough and set a pre-defined time like that.

Give yourself enough time.

Use TTP for quant course, since you're just starting, you can use their 5 day trial to see how it goes.
Their instructors can also help you with the approach and right strategy for you.

For Verbal:
Do it section wise, get really good at one section and proceed like that.
Manhattan guides and Ron's videos are great.

All the best.

Since you have got a V20 on your first mock; I can understand your anxiety is normal for verbal section of GMAT. Consistent, careful and determined efforts will take you to your goal.

I would suggest you to focus only on the e-gmat course for the time being. One should not ride on two horses at the same time. I have heard good reviews about the e-gmat course and I know few friends who have been able to touch V36/V38 with the help of e-gmat. (You would find some reviews of even V40+ but I don't know them personally & this could strictly be the personal view point of those, who have undertaken this course and would have benefitted. This might or might not be consistent with your personal experience as everyone has his or her own learning preferences, howver you should make your own opinion after finishing this course)

I would suggest you to thoroughly focus on the e-gmat course. Finish all the modules. If possible, revise them. The course would have drill/mini sets/quizzes. Check which areas are giving you more problem and then again revise them untill you feel comfortable both in terms of content and your strategy. Keep giving mocks in between to check progress, I would strongly recommend ONLY to check your progress through the 6 official mocks and use the other mocks only to practice and not to guage your capability.

Here's the process for ACTUAL performance improvement:
Look at your most recent Mock test performance.
Analyse:-
1) why did you make the mistakes you did on any questions?
2) Were any of those mistakes avoidable?
3) What would you have to change in your process to avoid those mistakes?
4) When can you start making those changes? As soon as you do, your scores are going to improve, dramatically.

Additional very important input:- DON"T IGNORE THE OFFICIAL GUIDE FOR VERBAL. TRY TO LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE FROM OFFICIAL QUESTIONS. It's more valuable to work with a smaller pool of questions with maximum training, than to do more questions without investing the energy to promote growth. Experience what it's like approaching them the correct/more efficient way.

After doing all this if you feel that the e-gmat course is not adding any value to you and is not helping you improve your score then you may report back here and start looking for an alternative option.

I hope this helps,

All the best!!

If e-GMAT is more than enough for your verbal prep then why any other course? But still if you want an other course read the reviews about EmpowerGMAT. May be you find it attractive one. Currently EmpowerGMAT is providing Free SC Course to GMAT Club members, get registered there and try this free one but E-gmat is better than this.

Here is the link for free SC Course from EmpowerGMAT.
