Answer is C .

all Bankers > athlets

no lawyers > banker

some athlets may not be banker or lawyer

This leaves only possibility which is described in Option C

Bankers --> Athletes => Athletes group includes (athletes are banker (1) and athletes are not banker (2))
Since Lawyers --> NOT bankers => Bankers --> NOT lawyers
(1) => the group of athletes who are bankers can not be lawyers =>Some of the athletes are not lawyers. (C)

At a gathering at which bankers, athletes, and lawyers are present, all of the bankers are athletes and none of the lawyers are bankers.

If the statements above are true, which one of the following statements must also be true?

The key point is that bankers are present. Since all bankers are athletes, every banker at the gathering is an athlete. Also, since no lawyers are bankers, those bankers are not lawyers. So at least some athletes are not lawyers.

(A) All of the athletes are bankers

This does not follow. All bankers are athletes, but that does not mean all athletes are bankers.

(B) Some of the lawyers are not athletes

This does not follow. Lawyers could all be athletes; we only know they are not bankers.

(C) Some of the athletes are not lawyers

This is correct. Since bankers are present, and all bankers are athletes, there is at least one athlete who is a banker. Since no lawyer is a banker, that athlete is not a lawyer.

(D) All of the bankers are lawyers

This contradicts the statement that no lawyers are bankers.

(E) None of the lawyers are athletes

This does not follow. Lawyers cannot be bankers, but they could still be athletes.
