Hi Experts,
I recently took my GMAT exam after 4-5 months of preparation & the result has been disappointing.
I got a 660 (Q48,V33) & I feel very dejected. Having cooled off for a couple of weeks, I am planning for a retake after a few months (late June).
I had already taken the help of a GMAT preparation company for my test but it seems safe to say, that the effort has not been reflected on my scores.
Though my Quants section seems alright & I feel that a concerted push may take it to Q50. (My tutor is going to help me here)
It is the Verbal section which requires quite a bit of improvement, as I am looking for a V40. (Need pointers for a good course)
Target colleges have an average GMAT score of 700+, being an Indian IT male (
) I need to get a better score than the average.
In addition, to the preparation, I took a month subscription of TTP (really helped in a short time).
Followed videos by GMAT Ninja & Manhattan Prep books for Sentence Correction. One issue I feel is that, my sentence correction is a bit of a hit & miss.
Even though I followed the Process of Elimination during the preparation, my strategies went for a toss in the main paper.
My Mock Scores were very similar to my actual score:
Kaplan Mock scores ranged from 640-680.
So it feels that I need a fair bit of improvement if I have to achieve my target score
I am attaching my ESR for further inputs but a few things I have analysed from my ESR.
Quants Section : Last quarter messed up my score & Geometry/Algebra are my weak points.
Verbal Section : Critical Reasoning section dragged down my score while Sentence Correction needs a bit of improvement, specifically the difficult questions
I wont be able to study much over the next month, but I can sit down with my books earnestly from mid-march.
I can devote a 1.5-2 hrs on weekdays & a total of 6-7 hrs on the weekends.

Hi Fahad222,
First off, a 660/Q48 is a strong Score, so it may be enough to get you into your first-choice School. There's certainly no harm in continuing to study though - and you have the potential to pick up points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Depending on which Schools you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

On an average i studied 10-15 hrs a week, but i feel like i did not make steady progress before my test.

GMAT 1 Without Prep - 540 (Q42, V21)
Kaplan exam 1 - 600 (Q47, V25)
Kaplan exam 2 - 640 (Q45, V33)
Kaplan exam 3 - 640 (Q46, V32)
Kaplan exam 4 - 610 (Q47, V26)
GMAT 2 With Prep - 680 (Q48, V35)
I prepared another 3 weeks after this to take my examination
