Mean = Sum of Observations / Total Observations
The mean of 9 numbers = 85
Sum of the 9 numbers = 9 * 85 = 765
If 5 is subtracted from 6 numbers, then total value subtracted = 6 * 5 = 30
Sum of the 9 numbers = 765 - 30 = 735
Mean = \(\frac{735 }{ 9} \)= \(\frac{245}{3} \)= 81 \(\frac{2}{3}\)
