Having looked at some of the crayons, I think you could totally use them since they are simpler, smaller, and even less threatening than markers. Just make sure you test them to achieve a clean whiteboard after erasing.

P.S. I would anyway inquire with the GMAC despite of what you are told on the internets ;-)

Thanks a lot for you reply. I did try the crayons on the whiteboard and erasing them is a bit challenging. Anyways I ended up doing the GMAT with a marker and tried to write as little as possible and kept the cap closed!

Now the question is whether I should do the GMAT again. My score is 700 (Q48, V38). Taking the exam at home was challenging. The guy in the apartment next door turned on the TV at full volume as I was about to start the Verbal Reasoning section. I am wondering if I can get a better score at a Test Center.

Sorry about the TV noise. It is tricky since you can't use ear plugs at home.

I would say, the answer depends on your practice scores. How have you been scoring in your practice tests? Is this 700 representative of your score or is it a far cry? I would use as your guide more than anything. There will be other issues and distractions at the test center that you did not have at home - people walking by you, coughing, having to wear a mask (maybe not in your country), etc. So it is not ideal in either.
