First consider the right choice, then doubting my knowledge and thinking the question as easy looking tricky question, with full confidence, wise I almost always pick the wrong choice, proudly 🥴

Hello rdrdrd1201,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, Option D is not entirely incorrect, but Option A is superior because "his losing votes" better parallels "his self-sabotaging" than "him losing votes" does, as the former also follows the "possessive pronoun + gerund" instruction, while the latter follows the "object pronoun + gerund" construction.

We hope this helps.
All the best!
