Also, have you reported your experience to the GMAC as a test centre irregularity? If not, you should: after all, good working pens are essential.

Where/How can I do this? Should of I done it at the TC, or can I do it online?

Hi MBAaustralia,

Although I doubt that you'll get a brand new pen, why don't you give the pen a rigorous test once it's handed to you, so if there are issues you can ask for a new pen right away?

I replaced my pen six times throughout the exam, which were not in a good condition. As vv65 mentioned, I think it's something that should be reported to GMAC.

I've just paid A$300+ to sit this exam, and I couldn't be supplied with working pens.

Hi Scott,

Yes I did report it. I sent an email over the weekend but also gave the Asia-Pacific Customer Support number a call. Their response was that I have the right to "check and test" the pens before I sit the exam. They also said that all stationary is the responsibility of the test centre itself (Pearson VUE). As I can't find any contact numbers for my test center, I'll make sure I pop in there over the next couple of weeks before my exam on March 9th to talk with someone about providing pens that are not worn out.

Yes no issues with requesting one of the staff to show that the pens are working before the exam starts. I would actually recommend to do that for all test takers!

Yes, "Ask for multipe pens and check the pens" should be standard advice

Also, "keep the pens capped" so they don't dry

Pens that don't work can really ruin the exam

OK cool. I would definitely do that.
