Please help me understand why is E not the answer.

Hey! The argument is between the identical twins and faternal twins. E is a fact and can be true but not valid for the argument. Hope this helps!

WEAKEN : CORELATION OF ALCHOLISM WITH IDENTICAL TWINS IS NOT GENETIC , RATHER ENVIRONMENT INFLUENCED.

A ) The study in question examined a large and diverse population of both identical and fraternal twins : IRRELEVANT

B ) The correlation revealed by the study, while high, was less than had been predicted by the researchers involved : OUT OF SCOPE

C ) A similar study of identical and fraternal twins found no evidence of a genetic basis for schizophrenia, a mental disorder : OUT OF SCOPE

D ) Research has shown that environment plays a stronger role in the lives of identical twins, who tend to be treated more alike than fraternal twins : CORRECT

E ) Establishing that alcoholism is genetically determined does little, if anything, to prevent people from becoming alcoholics : IRRELEVANT

C cannot be the Right answer because the correlation is absent in the case of schizophrenia but we cannot generalize the result of that study to the study of alcoholism unless some link is mentioned(which in this case is absent).
