Hi ,
I too have not appeared for the GMAT yet. But beleivw that you should have the GMAT date on the calendar. But you can schedule the date depending upon the time that you require for your preparation.A little pressure of the exam date is always required to keep one going.

so do you guys suggest that I register it after I decide a date?
What do you mean set it on the calendar? pay for that date or just aim for that date?

If you have a prefered test time, you might have to book the test sooner than later. I wanted to take the test at 8:00, and I had to postpone for three weeks.

I scheduled my GMAT test a few weeks in advance, I don't think you need to do it too far in advance. Of course it depends on your location, some locations fill up faster than others. If you go to mba.com, you can view seating availabilty. Pick a date and stick to it; if you have to change it is only $50.

In case you are a procrastinator: for $50 you can reschedule, but it has to be at least seven calendar days in advance of your currently scheduled test date.

Otherwise, you eat the $250.

Thanks. I think I'll schedule about 1 month or so in advance.

Money wise, the US$50, about S$80 here, is not a small amount to me, just to reschedule it.
