Hi,

I agree with Iamprithwish that veritas CATs are up to the mark, but If you want to set a goal based on your mock performance, no other options can be as great as official ones. You can attempt two of them for free.

Good luck!

Hi SharmaRahul10201,

Many GMATers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so based on your timeframe, you appear to have given yourself plenty of time to study - which is great!

The scoring algorithm on the Official GMAT is far more complicated than most people realize. Since that algorithm is proprietary, no GMAT company has an exact match for it, thus CAT scores can vary a bit based on the 'biases' involved in their respective designs. The most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC (the 2 free CATs, and each of the 2 that come with Exam Pack 1 and Exam Pack 2), so it would be useful to know how you performed on one of those CATs - and you should take one of them next (in approximately 1-2 weeks).

It's worth noting that while the most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, retaking a CAT that you've already taken is NOT a realistic way to assess your skills - since you will likely see some 'repeat' questions that you have already faced. Unfortunately, seeing even a couple of repeats can 'throw off' the Scoring Algorithm and impact your pacing, energy levels, fatigue, etc. (meaning that they would likely all appear to be better than they actually are). Thankfully, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion that matches the parameters that you will face when you take the Official GMAT) - so you can use any NEW CATs from any of those sources.

All things considered, assuming that you took these CATs under realistic Testing conditions that match-up with how you will take your Official GMAT, then these results show that you have strong overall critical-thinking skills. At this point, there isn't any evidence that you need to adjust your current study plan, so you should proceed as normal - and we can discuss any potential adjustments in the future once we've seen a few more CAT results.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

You will have to rely on official mocks only to get a accurate assessment of your score.

Hi SharmaRahul10201,

Those are some great scores but why don't you also take an official MBA.com practice exam? If you are able to, please report back with your score breakdown. In the meantime, here is also a helpful article:

Hey everyone, I began my GMAT prep 3 weeks back and since then I have taken 2 mock tests.
My target score is 730.
Target Date - First week of July
I took the free mocks offered by Egmat first and the 2nd mock was the Veritas Prep free Mock.

My Mock scores are as follows:
Mock 1 (Q48,V31) 640 ....after week 2 on E GMAT
Mock 2 (Q50, V35 ) 690 after week 3 on Veritas Prep

I wanted to know how accurate these scores are and is this good enough and should I change my study plan for a higher score?

Hi SharmaRahul10201,

2 mock tests in the span of three weeks, that too at the beginning of your prep is not a great idea. Taking an official mock would have been a better idea as it gives you a better assessment. Having said that, you didn't mention anything about your study strategy. If you are focusing more on practicing questions and taking mocks, then I'm afraid that's not the right way to go about it. Please go through the articles below to understand the right way to prepare for GMAT.

Please give me a little more information about your study strategy and the approach so that I can guide you in a better way. You can write back to me here or a better way would be to discuss the same over a call. You can schedule a call with me using the link below.
