Why are we not considering decimal numbers as lowest marks because a student can score 70.5 as well ?

It's given scores are integers.

Scores= 70,a,b,87,c,d,e
 a+b+c+d+e= 560- ( 82+87)
a+b+c+d+e= 408
To maximise e, we have to minimise others.
So, a =71,b=72, c and d can be 87 ( if we take a and b both as 71 mode changes)
e=408-317= 91.
