Hello everyone!
This is my first post (although I have been reading for a long time!!), so apologies in advance if I'm doing something wrong.
I have been planning to take the online GMAT next week (I already booked it and took time off work) in the current format (which is the one without the AWA section) but I recently realized that if I do it a few days later I will be able to do it with the new version, which includes the AWA.
My question is - does it matter? Could my application be negatively impacted if I don't have the AWA score? Especially since I'm taking the exam so close to the new GMAT online launch. I have asked some of my target schools and they have all replied saying they accept the online GMAT exam scores even without AWA, but still, I'm worried somehow it might still hurt me when adcoms are making the decision.
Obviously there is financial and logistic implications if I were to move it (+ would have to prepare the AWA).
Does anyone have any advice? I'm quite stressed out about this so thanks in advance if anyone finds some time to help me out!

No, you can go ahead and take the current version of the online GMAT. As it is, AWA scores don't really matter to schools. They can get a sense of whether you can write, from your application essays. AWA scores are, in some cases, reviewed to see whether the same person has written the essays. But mostly, as long as you have a score which makes it seem like you'd be able to write in b-school - you're good (read - even if you don't have an AWA, it doesn't matter).
More relevant factors for you might be whether you need that extra break and whether being able to pick the section order matters. Bumped my score by 40 points.
