Let the distance covered by Dawn after overtaking Paul be D meters. Then the distance covered by Paul in the same period is D/6 meters so he has to run 5D/6 (D-D/6) meters more in order to reach Dawn. He took 2 minutes to run D/6 meters so he will take 2*5=10 meters to run 5D/6 meters.

Speed of Dawn = 6 * speed of Paul
Distance covered by Dawn = 6 * distance covered by Paul .

If Dawn ran for 2 mins , Paul would have to run for 12 mins to cover the distance .
But while Dawn was running those 2 mins , did Paul stop running .... NO !
So Paul also ran for 2 mins and now will have to run another 10 mins to reach Dawn.

Difference in speed:

6R-R = 5R, where R is his speed.

So she goes the given distance past him in 2 minutes.

Since he's running at 1/5 her speed, it must take him 5 times as long to travel that distance, or

10 minutes

which is how long she has to wait
