Hi to all!
Gave the test today, scoring a 680 (Q47 V36 IR 6). Overall, it was an average experience, with few technical glitches during the exam period.
Here's my debrief-
Logged into examity at 10:15 am for a 10:30 am test, but I couldn't connect to my proctor, although I had already installed GoToMeeting and Zoom. Had to reach out to customer care, but fortunately got connected around 10:35 am.
Went on to start the test around 10:50 am after the verification, a little flustered after the ruckus in the last 40 mins. Started off with the quant section. Around 17 mins I could not select any answer choice, and had to reach out to the proctor. Although she paused the test, had already lost around 2 mins by then and had to restart the laptop.
Post my first break, my laptop got stuck, so had to again restart it. Overall, verbal section went seamless, from the technical stand-point. Unfortunately, my laptop had gone off by the time I returned from my second break and had restart it all over again. Post this, finished both AWA and IR comfortably.
Overall, I felt that the test, especially the quant section was a lot harder than the practice tests. The verbal was of similar difficulty level. However, along with the stress of technical problems, I felt that taking the GMAT Online was not the best decision.
Some things to keep in mind prior to taking the test:
1. Set the AC temperature right!! (Silly one, I know but geeezzz SO important)
2. Ensure that you have downloaded GoToMeeting, Zoom and Secure Broswer
3. Enable pop-ups for examity and MBA and shut it off the others. Disable VPN. If you're a Mac user, be mentally prepared that it's going to take a bit longer for the approvals. DO NOT let the stress of technical issues get to your head, and deal with it patiently
I want to retake the test. My scores in the last practice mocks had been:
P1 690 (Q49 V34)
P2 710 (Q49 V38)
P3 720 (Q49 V39)
P4 730 (Q50 V38)
During my preparation, I had enrolled for eGMAT course and was on a sabbatical since the last two months and can't say it was a case of nerves due to which my scores dipped. There were probably a couple of questions in quant which I did not know, but verbal went the same way it had in the last few mocks.
I want to apply to M7 in round 2, so I'm going to retake the test.
Can somebody help me with some questions-
1. When should I plan on taking the test? (I know I want to take one at a test centre)
2. How should I go on about analysing my strengths and weaknesses? (Ik there were a few topics like probability, that I was a 100% clear but I wouldn't say there was anything that I wasn't very clear with)
3. Could somebody help me understand what my strategy should be and how should I spread out my preparation throughout the duration? Is there anything that I need to do differently?
4. How much time should I ideally keep post my GMAT for my applications?
Would be great if somebody could help me out! I'm targeting a 740+ score.

First off, a 680/Q47 is a strong score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. If you're planning to apply to M7 Schools, then there's a certain logic in continuing to study and retesting (and you have a great opportunity to pick up points in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections). With those highly-competitive Schools, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions (including the type of GMAT Score that you might "need" to be considered a competitive Applicant) and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. From what you describe, you faced a number of external issues on Test Day that likely did impact your performance. That having been said, we have to be careful about assuming that those were the factors that impacted your results. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

First off, a 680/Q47 is a strong score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. Thanks for the inputs! It makes sense to reach out to some admission consultants and get a sense of what the requirements are. Answering your questions below-
1) How long have you studied? How many hours did you typically study each week?- approximately 180-200 hours. Used to study around 35 hours a week.
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?- Was enrolled in egmat. Have solved approximately 50% of the OG questions. Have taken the official mocks.
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
26 Jan (before I started studying) 680 (Q46 V38)
21st July P2 690 (Q49 V34)
25 July P1 710 (Q49 V38)
27 July P3 720 (Q49 V39)
29 July P4 730 (Q50 V38)
Consistently scored 5-6 in IR
