Official website has stated on their website that versions above MacOS 12.2.1 are not compatible

I have MacOS 12.6 and my test is due for day after tomorrow, awaiting reply from Examity customer support.

Meanwhile, kindly let me know if anyone has faced similiar issue in the past.

Thanks in advance

Note : Tried to attach the link & screenshot but Gmatclub is not allowing me to do that as of now. You can go to MBA website > Plan for Exam Day >Taking the Exam Delivered Online >System requirements

I think it is fine. Honestly most people don’t even probably noticed this requirement and someone else asked three weeks ago but they did not respond later so I assume it worked fine for them.

Just received a reply from Examity Customer Support stating
"We request you to download the secure browser and run a trail to check if the browser was launching was successfully. Once it is done, you are ready to take the test."

Although not a direct reply to the question if Mac OS 12.6 is compatible but the Lockdown browser is downloaded and it launched properly on my laptop. New Tab opens with a pop up screen stating "This program can only be opened by a link in another browser" and close button (which is the only responsive button) . Browser closes when the Close button is clicked at. I am hoping it is supposed to do that.

It seems there should not be any issue because of MacOS 12.6.

Thanks for the quick response, bb

Great to know they responded to you so quickly. That's great!
It seems the requirements are outdated or perhaps not requirements at all?

I did mention in another post that requirements seem to be somewhat questionable since one of them prohibits use of a hot spot but not clear why. It may have to do with bandwidth but some hotspots are really powerful and have high bandwidth. It is a mystery I guess but good to know it is perfectly fine.

Good luck on your test! Hopefully one less thing to worry about.

There is a system check that should show hopefully provide an indication. Consider also googling this query to see what pops up.

Hi,

I'm writing my Gmat in 3 Days and just want to get to know if GMAT Online works properly on MacOS Monterey.
I have installed Essecurebrowser, but there is no way to test it on mac before the exam...
I don't want to fail my Exam because of technical issues...

Anyone got experience with MacOS Monterey?

Thanks a lot.

Hi. I think this info would be of some use to you. I have MacBook Air (M1, 2020), mac OS monterey, Version 12.5.1. I just took the test a couple of weeks back and there were no technical issues with regard to configuration, as such. All the best for your exam.

System check was first thing I did. The system check is not of much use in knowing OS version compatibility - its good for speed and camera/microphone check - even though it has separate tab for Operating Systems with windows/apple logo on it -along with browser tab - but they only detect the presence or absence - nothing related to version compatibility.

Moreover, It does not detect if you have the 'secure browser' downloaded or not - Just keeps giving you the download link - irrespective of the fact that whether you have already installed it in the system or not.

Anyway, after few rounds of chat with Examity, I am pretty confirmed that this would not be an issue. Should work fine. Just ensure that the secure browser is launching on your laptop.

Yeah, it seems like communication error between different parties. After few rounds of discussion in Examity and some online research, my understanding is that
MacOS version compatibility is on the sole basis of what secure browser is tested to be working fine on.
Examity has partnered with the secure browser team so Examity basically conveys the same info to MBA website, which is handled by another organisation altogether.
The flow of updates between these 3 organisations is not up to date. Thats why even Examity did not have a direct reply to whether MacOS 12.6 is compatible or not.

As I mentioned below, The system check by Examity is also not helpful in this regard.

Post test, i will do my part and will notify the MBA team about their outdated requirement.
Hope they look into it and save others from unnecessary trouble.
