On 1st December, I had my third attempt at the official GMAT exam online. I started with quant but due to anxiety, I had to guess a few questions and by the end, I knew my quant score will not be that great. Still, to gauge my performance for the next attempt, I decided to go full force in verbal. As I proceeded to the second SC question, my screen went blank. I waved to the proctor twice but there was no response. After a while, the proctor asked me if there was an issue. After explaining the entire scenario, he paused my exam and asked me how much time had I missed out on because of the issue. I was not sure and asked him to either start the section again or add the time as he must have a record of the same as the exam is recorded. He denied and did not allow me to leave the room for 30+ minutes. Someone from the GMAC US team joined the call after that and informed me that they will be adding my lost time if I can tell them the minutes. Again, I had no idea and asked them to do the same. They reinstalled my timer to 65 minutes and asked me to continue the exam after making me wait for around 40 minutes in the middle of the exam. I repeatedly asked them to cancel the exam as I was no more in the mind state to sit for my verbal section after the long wait. When asked again, he told me to take a small break and then give the exam.
Although I knew that my score will not turn out well, I did not find this to be fair. Due to an error on the GMAC end, I had a headache by the end of the exam. 5 hours with 45 minutes of waiting for the proctor to tell me what to do. The most irritating part- the proctor asked me to show my room after unpausing the paper and the timer running in the verbal section.
After the exam, I have received a mail from the GMAC team that my paper is under review and they will let me know soon.
Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue before and how should I tackle this. till then, thinking of prepping for my fourth attempt with
gmatwhiz. Reviews will be appreciated. Target Date: 5TH Jan
Score in 3rd attempt: 560 (v32, q 30/32 - do not remember as by this time I felt dizzy and left the room immediately. )
