I have received Admit Offers from ESSEC Business School, Cergy, and Imperial College Business School for Msc. Finance.
Please help me with which school I should choose, ESSEC is ranked the 4th best worldwide by FT, and Imperial is ranked 13th worldwide by QS.

However, Imperial has the advantage of London which is the financial hub.

Request you to advise, what shall be the most suitable option, considering course content, opportunities, social life, and placements.

I will be highly obliged for your help.
Thanks

Hello Needhelpurgent,

You might want to speak with students at these schools before making a decision. ESSEC may be higher ranked but language, recruitment, and general ease of adjustment have a few associated question marks.

Imperial, on the other hand, has the London advantage.

Thanks.

Congrats on your admits!
I know ESSEC is highly rated but my concern is the language skills and where you would be recruiting - most likely Germany, Netherlands, or UK. What can you expect from on-campus recruiting there?

Hey, After speaking to the students studying there and the alumni, they say that the companies do sponsor the Visa and 40% of them are placed in London. French is not extensively required since maximum students there are international, however for some local interactions basic French works.

Keeping this in mind, what would be more suitable?

Congratulations for your admit..
Well you should try out to speak with current students and address your queries with students of similar background that would help you understand about the challenges and risk if any post the course completion viz. recruitment etc..
wish you the best

Hey, they say that just M1 internship is to be done in EU , since its costly for employers in UK to sponsor visa, however in M2, generally the companies sponsor the visa and pay the tuition fees as well.

I'd side with Imperial as it gives you access to the UK market.

There is a good chance that if you are looking for finance roles in Europe, and if you don't speak a European language, you will look at UK or Switzerland. The abilty to stay back in the UK will be a big advantage to help you look for roles post your course if it comes to it (vs staying in France and trying the same). UK is also a great hub for fintech firms if you choose to explore newer areas of finance.

Tough choice both are not target per say. Would say Imperial as it will open the UK market.
