"First Common Term in the series" refers to the number that appears in both the series

Let's take this question to understand this better.

We have two series in the question

1) 5x + 2
2) 7y + 6

Let's write a few terms in both series

5x + 2: 2, 7, 12, 17, 22, 27, 32 .....

7y + 6: 6, 13, 27, 34, ....

Observe that 27 appears in both series.

Hence the first term in both series = 27.
