I think E is the right answer.

Alexander Graham Bell, the eminent scientist and inventor, is well known for inventing the first practical telephone, and also for founding the National Geographic Society.

Parallelism is the point of this question.

How about inventing-a present participle and finding- a present participle too. Parallelism is followed

The question tests on parallelism and right usage of the word founding i.e to establish and not finding which means searching.

E is the correct choice.
