I took the GMAT 710 (Q50/V35/IR7/AWA6) earlier in the month, then decided to retake it because I knew I can do much better in verbal.
16 days later, I got GMAT 720 (Q49/V40/IR4/AWA6) - verbal did improve but quant slightly worsened while IR is much lower, likely because have been focusing my review on verbal.
Is it worth another retake before the end of the year to get a good score across sections in one take?
Am looking to apply in H/S/W/M7 schools for round 2 - most deadlines are in early January.
Have also been very busy with work in the office and in a non-profit lately.

Another retake to pull it all together and beat your target schools' average GMAT scores seems worthwhile as long as you don't have to prepare too much.
Some work on a few weaker areas along with some mixed practice should get you back to Q50.
Also, you could do some streaks practice, as discussed in the following post, to improve your consistency in both quant and verbal.
