As the title suggests, I have had the misfortune that Pearson VUE sent me an email stating that they "are unable to deliver your exam as scheduled. We know this is disappointing news, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience" the day before the exam.
To say that this is an "inconvenience", however, is a gross and massive understatement.
I had taken two weeks leave to prepare for this exam, and because they have no testing center in my city, I had to take a flight to a specific city in my country, which also means several days in the hotel room. Overall, this has costed me more than $1k in a country where the minimum monthly wage is less than $300. I would have been okay with this arrangement, had I had gotten the test regardless of the result.
However, as I did not even have the chance to, and the Pearson team did not even bother to convey their apology in person (they send the email only via system), I am massively disappointed and quite a bit angry. When I checked with their customer service rep, they said that I have to reschedule because of "site closure". Funny, because I was checking in from the site, with their PC. The testing center wasn't even aware that the test would be cancelled until I told them, and they confirmed that they will remain open on the scheduled day.
The testing center contacted Pearson and told me that it was a technical issue from Pearson's end, and I'm more inclined to believe the testing center. The issue with this is that I will have to fly back to my original city by the end of the week, and I have used up all my leaves for this test. I think I will have to cancel my R2 application, and that means postponing the application by a year (not applying on R3 / R4 due to lower chance).
Considering the personal losses, potential loss of a year post-MBA salary, and Pearson's abysmal response to this whole situation (can even be considered slandering the site center), is there any way to request for compensation? I know that it would be unlikely that I can take legal actions due to the waiver in their website, but if anyone knows someone in Pearson, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Unfortunate situation. Hopefully, at the very least, you'll receive a voucher for a free rescheduling. Consider going for the Online version of the exam rather than travelling to another city for an in-person one.
