Hi all,
Some of you may remember that 2 weeks ago I sat for the gmat online and it was an horrible experience due to the proctor's misbehaviour.
Today I have sat for the gmat at the test centre in Milan and everything went smoothly. Got a 720 and i am pretty satisfied because I know that, despite having studied more than 300 hours over 40 days (a lot, i know), today I couldn't achieve an higher score. The strategy I adopted was wrong from the very beginning and therefore I wasted too much time on Preps.
In fact, the reason why i am here to write this thread is to warn all the prospective GMAT test takers to avoid wasting money on preps, as I did with
Magoosh and TTP, and instead work out only on gmat club, which is free and is much more insightful.
Also, I've hated every second of my prep because of the unnecessary FOMO around this exam. Reading blogs and forums it seems that if you don't take at least 700 you are the most stupid person ever, and this logic has been created by all the Prep companies with their rhetoric of "cracking" or "acing" the gmat, while at the end this exam is only an exam and not a reason of existence.
This is my take on the future of the GMAT:
1. In a couple of years it will cost like the CFA level 1;
2. Indian prep companies will come up with a course on how to train your mindset for the gmat;
3. The Quant percentiles will become much more inflated, and therefore GMAC will start to make the section harder
4. At the test centres they will start to search also in the underwear of test takers during the check-in
I wish all of you best of luck on your future endeavours,
The Gmat Tycoon
