Could someone please explain why option E is incorrect?

A. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit in and help various organizations
E. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is such a talented and easy going woman that she could fit in and help various organizations

While grammatically E looks okay, its wordier than A. It is suffice to say that Jane is so talented and easy going that.. Stating that Jane is such a talented and easy going woman that... seems unnecessary.

Could someone please explain why option E is incorrect?

Its a general preference that is followed in GMAT.
Whenever we have two options with no other differences, we prefer the verb form over the noun form.
'So....that' is verb form and 'such...that' is Noun form.
But use this concept if there are no other major mistakes in the choice and the only deciding factor is verb/noun form.

C. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit and help various organizations

D. Despite the fact that she lacks work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit in and help various organizations

E. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is such a talented and easy going woman that she could fit in and help various organizations

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit in and help various organizations.

A. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit in and help various organizations

The verb fit requires the preposition in to adequately connect to organizations.

What helps us identify this question as a Split Construction question and identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign: A split construction: Verb A + and/or + Verb B + object

In this answer choice, the first verb is followed by a preposition, so there's no mistake here.

B. Although she lacks work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit and help various organizations

Stylistically, this answer choice is better (more concise) than the original sentence as a result of replacing Despite her lack of work experience with Although she lacks work experience.

However, this answer choice is grammatically incorrect.

The verb fit requires the preposition in to adequately connect to organizations.

What helps us identify this question as a Split Construction question and identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign: A split construction: Verb A + and/or + Verb B + object

Remember that Grammar overrides style on the GMAT.

C. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit and help various organizations

This answer choice is grammatically incorrect.

D. Despite the fact that she lacks work experience, Jane is so talented and easy going that she could fit in and help various organizations

This answer choice is stylistically flawed. Replacing Despite her lack of work experience with the less concise Despite the fact that she lacks work experience creates redundancy.

E. Despite her lack of work experience, Jane is such a talented and easy going woman that she could fit in and help various organizations

This answer choice is stylistically flawed. Replacing so talented and easy going with the less concise such a talented and easy going woman creates redundancy.
