HELP GMAT Online Exam No Show due to not getting a Join Proctor option

Question

I could not begin my exam on June 10th at the scheduled time (10:00 AM) because the connect to proctor option was not displayed. I tried logging in 30 mins before the exam, but when I still could not begin I used Examity chat support. The support person assured me that I can begin at 10 AM, but that wasn't the case. I called Examity tech support at 10:05 AM, and even they couldn't fix the issue. By the time I got off the call, issue still unresolved, it was 10:40 AM, and the window to begin the exam was over. Examity support assured me that this happened through no fault of my own, and that they will escalate the matter to GMAC/mba. They advised me to send an email to GMAT customer support. I have done the same, attaching all necessary evidence to prove my case (screenshots) and I am waiting for their reply. However, they do not work on the weekends.

I'm writing this for this reason. To ask if anyone else has gone through a similar issue, and to request that they share with me some much needed advice. I am in the military, and my unit is about to deploy. I needed to take the test today (or at the very latest, this week!). I need some immediate help or advice!

Hi. Sorry about the technical issue.

Unfortunately they will be about a 24 hour leg until you can rebook the exam. There is a regular sync it seems between the examinee and the GMAC system and it takes about 12 hours for them to get in sync and actually confirm that you did not take the test and the test was not taken and in that case you will be allowed to book another online test. But this will only happen at least 12 hours after your original exam time and potentially 24 hours later…

Your best bet is perhaps to take the test as a test center if there’s one anywhere around you. You can take it as a test center regardless of the online test.

In terms of next steps, I would wait 12 hours from your test time and potentially 24 and start bugging GMAC support to rebook your exam.

Maybe someone will have a better advice?

bb  I appreciate your quick response. My only frustration is trying to get in contact with someone. I do not understand why they would offer weekend testing, and not provide weekend customer support. I am sure issues like this happen often, right?

It’s a good question but I would say that even during the weekdays the support isn’t quite real time if you search for past similar experiences… and in part is because they have to wait for that time to pass for the systems to update. 😬

bb Tracking. I'll just try to ruthlessly pester them on Monday. Hopefully I am able to take it next week. I will post how it goes, as I have learned a lot between managing the military, my gmat studies, and now dealing with this. I appreciate this GMATClub site. Unfortunate situation. Ultimately, since the exam was not actually taken, you shouldn't have to wait 16-days between Online attempts.
