Hello Everyone

To give some background about me, I have an MS in Industrial engineering from the US and have lived there for approximately 7 years. When it comes to choosing my next college to do my MBA, I find myself at a cross road unable to decide where the best prospects would lie for my future. I am 28 years old and from India and am looking to pursue my MBA either from India, Germany, netherlands or Australia. Out of these countries, which countries offer the best programs both in terms of ROI, growth opportunities and stability from both the immigration and economic standpoint. I am talking about schools such IIM, ISB, Uni Melbourne, UNSW, Mannheim, ESMT, Erasmus, so all premier schools in their own countries and well known and ranked institutions globally in terms of value and recognition. I thought it would be a good idea for people to present their thoughts and experiences from these countries and schools which could help me channel my efforts and expectations. I want to think of my life for long term stability and not just short term gains.

look for germany primarily...visa regime is welcoming...only thing is you will need german...then aus as recent visa changes allow longer stay...reject netherlands - no long term stability there...people from erasmus go on to work in germany so why not go directly...if you can crack 700 on gmat then only look for india where your international experience will be valued

Why MBA , Why now...
How will.MBA help you in your career path
..
Once you have answer to all these then you should shortlist schools and apply accordingly

Well I have worked for close to 5 years in the US and had to come back due to visa issues. While it was disappointing at first, the lack of stability in american immigration especially with the H1B is rather unsettling and does not do well in terms of long term plans. I was getting tired of being an engineer and wanted to move into management and felt that this was the right time due to personal and professional reasons. Right now I am still young, do not have any other commitments and can choose to move ahead with my life per my terms. Questions comes down to whether opportunities and quality of life will be better in India, Germany or Australia not just for the next 5 years but for the foreseeable future. India has becoming a massive economy both in terms of tech and manufacturing over the last few years and can see India growing massively over the coming decade. On the other hand, I self admittedly will say I do not like the working culture at a lot of indian companies and greatly appreciate work life balance. Ultimately it comes down to a few moving factors and wanted to see if people had any experiences or advice to share.

hi again, i agree with your pov...i have one specific program reco for you in india...look for iim c pgpex vlm program...its one year mba only but for the engineers like you...it will perfectly align with your background...on WLB i think germany serves better...interestingly again your strong engg background and international exposure will be very much valued by german employers...
