The gmatclub was a great support for reaching the desired score of 700. Getting upto a V35 was very hard for me especially when it came to Reading comprehension. However I continued to practice the official GMAT questions took help help from my friend
GMATking94 and was finally able to perform well on the GMAT official test.
I believe achieving a GMAT score greater than or equal to 700 was possible by simply doing the following things-
1. Enjoy the preparation. I was never able to crack the CR question until I started to enjoy the arguments and conclusions presented in the passage. Also the video series by
GMATNinja was extremely helpful and a daily practice of 5 questions ( hard level) per day helped me immensely.
2. Reading comprehension - my weakest section - scored barely 30-40% in this section . Only way to improve start slow force yourself to stay with the passage and keep associating the passage with something or someone you know in your life. This keeps you slightly well connected with passage. Additionally this could be my own perception but these RC questions are way different than the RC questions I answered in my school days. The answer would hardly be literal from the passage rather the bigger inference collectively from the passage is typically the answer.
For the long passages , would be typically filled with data and for these specifically long passage I feel the questions are mostly based on the facts or the data shared in the passage thus avoid getting overwhelmed from the data and you can easily toggle back and forth for searching the answer.
3. For Sentence Correction -
e-GMAT course was very helpful. Also the blogs from MᶜGARRY (
MAGOOSH GAMT Expert) contributed in building up the basics required for SC.
4. Quant - Being an engineer was fairly easy for me. However as my friends recommended to me, I would pass on the same recommendation that only solve the official questions and do time them every time you practice them. Avoid silly mistakes and never ever get emotionally attached with a question, YOU need to set aside a max time limit for every question and you need to move on to the next question so that you are able to give time to the other questions as you might end up making silly mistake while hastily trying to solve the remaining of the questions.
Practice daily , at least 5 questions of each type so that you remain in the rhythm and maintain your momentum.
best of luck for the exam !
