Hi Everyone, need some help for a friend. Due to a paucity of time, he needs to start filling in his applications as soon as possible. I'll mention his profile and the doubts we have in the following points below -

Profile - Indian Male Engineer; GMAT 640(Q46V32IR8); Working in one of the Big 4 firms with a work-ex of 2.5 years; Seeks to get full-time into strategic consulting.

1. He is targetting BITSOM as one option, can someone tell what could be other good options for him, both in India and abroad?
2. Due to budget constraints, he is seeking an admission consultant who would be both effective and economical. What could be good options for him?
3. As this was his second attempt (prev. score 630) after intense preparation and mocks, he is contemplating whether to take the test again or not, can someone suggest what would be a good approach in such a situation?

Please reach out to me in case you can help, thanks in advance!

Hello DeusTacitus22,

Thanks for writing in.

In India, there are limited programs that will be within reach with the existing score and work experience; you could, however, consider Great Lakes.

With regard to international programs, there are several programs spread across geographies that he may target; however, that will depend on his priorities as well as his overall profile.

Happy to discuss his prospects in detail over a free profile evaluation session; should you feel the need for the same, please get in touch with us.

All the best!

Abroad, schools such as Warwick, Questrom, Bocconni might be worth a try. Remember, GMAT is not the measure of success alone and therefore focus on portraying strong essays and application material. I can guide you on this front.

Regarding the re-test, I believe it is worth it only if your friend crosses 700. Anything less than that might not be of significant help because he already comes from a well represented pool. DM in case of further queries.
