A new line of cosmetics called "Glow" has been released, claiming to provide a more natural, healthy look than other brands. To determine the effectiveness of the new line, a study was conducted in which participants used Glow cosmetics on one side of their face and a competitor's brand on the other side. The study found that, on average, participants preferred the look of the side of their face with the Glow cosmetics. Furthermore, the Glow cosmetics were found to be longer-lasting than the competitor's brand, with participants reporting that the Glow cosmetics remained on their skin for up to 12 hours.
Based on the information provided in the above argument, select one statement that, if true, most strengthens the argument and one statement that, if true, most weakens the argument. Make only two selections, one in each column.

Can you please post the detailed explanation for the weaken statement.
I am confused regarding the above since it is mentioned that the participants used Glow's products on one side of the face and the competitor's on others. Even if they have a markedly healthy and natural appearance before study, the two sides of face will show different results post the application of cosmetic products of 2 different brands.
I understand the basis of the strengthening portion of the argument, but how can the weakening be the point with markedly skin? If not anything, it is providing a neutral ground for the brand glow and its competitors as the question has specifically mentioned that the participants applied the products of glow and the competition on the two sides of the face! Then how it is weakening the argument?

This option indicates that the participants already possess healthy and natural skin, which makes the result biased. For instance, if an individual already has naturally glowing skin, it would be inappropriate for him or her to participate in a skin-glowing competition.
Strengthens Argument: Qualified judges were consulted to provide their assessment on the impact of Glow cosmetics on skin.
This strengthens the argument because it adds objectivity to the study. If trained professionals also saw a difference in favor of Glow cosmetics, it reinforces the claim that they provide a more natural and healthy look.
Weakens Argument: The participants who used Glow cosmetics were found to have a markedly healthy and natural appearance before the study.
This weakens the argument because if participants already had naturally healthy-looking skin, the effects of the Glow cosmetics might be less noticeable. An ideal study would involve participants with a variety of skin types and conditions to showcase the effectiveness of the product on a wider range of people.
I didn't understood the weakened part Even if they had healthy natural skins still Glow outperformed it's competitors because people liked glow on their skin than other products. I mean why should it matter how good was your skin if the Glow product looks better on you than competitors?
