12 workers complete the work in 15 days.
Let's suppose total work = 12*15 = 180 units
Firstly, 12 workers work for 4 days in which they complete 15*4 = 60 units work
Letfover = 180 - 60 = 120 units
If 5 more workers join them, total workers = 15+5 = 20
20 workers can complete leftover work in \(\frac{120}{20}\) days = 6 days
Hence, correct option is B

R = Rate per worker ;
Initial no. of worker = 15
Total number of work units = 1
1) (R.15)* 12 = 1 ==> R = \(\frac{1}{15*12}\)
2) Work completed by 15 workers in 4 days instead of 12 would be 1/3 of the total work
Mathematically, (R.15)*4 = x , where R = \(\frac{1}{12*15}\) ==> x = 1/3
3) Remaining work = 1- x = 1-1/3 = 2/3 and no. of workers = (15+5) = 20 - finish the remaining work in t days
R(20)*t = 2/3
Subsitute R = \(\frac{1}{12*15}\) and solve for t ==> t = 6
