Don't give up, you were doing so well with the mocks. That could very well be the game day jitter. You may need to beat the anxiety. You can still do this.

If anyone else out there feels like a failure for not being able to crack the GMAT, well, you’re not alone. Today I sat for my first (and only GMAT attempt) and scored a painful 485 - never have I scored this low in a mock.

I started my prep in early November with a mock where I scored a 540 cold, and have never been able to score above that. The deadline for the MiM I wanted to apply to is May 2nd and, albeit I already planned on retaking the GMAT on April 29th as a last resort, I now know I have zero chances to get to my target 615.

I have completed all of the quant chapters on TTP, watched all of GMAT ninja’s videos, and had some practice with the OG, but despite having a 4.0 GPA and having always been a brilliant student, I’m afraid I’ll have to accept defeat, failure and shame for not getting into my dream school because I couldn’t do the GMAT (gotten into Imperial but I feel very bittersweet about it). Hopefully it wasn’t meant to be and the future will still hold lots of victories and success. I guess my GMAT story is over for now.
Hi martaxpett,

I would take the exam again if I were you. Also, it's encouraging that you have an admit.

Thank you for the debrief, and all the best.

You can try to take the exam again. What is your sectional breakdown score by Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights?

Many of the people who score surprisingly low or Unexpectedly low, dude because of mismanaged time.

I see spending a lot of time in the beginning of the section guessing at the end and then surprisingly asking what went wrong without clearly seeing what went wrong. Not sure if that was your case or not but for anyone else was reading – that’s what goes wrong.
