Why is it not B? If smallest file is 125 and each file is different size then the smallest amount possible should be 125+126+127+128+129+130 = 765 > 750 que?
Yes even I chose B because of this reason. 765 > 700 (capacity of CD). So, we are able to answer the question that it wont fit all 6 files with Statement 2 alone. Why is the correct answer C?

A computer user wants to save 6 files, each of a different size, on a CD. The CD will hold 700 megabytes of data. Will the CD hold all 6 files?

(1) The average size of the 3 largest files is 150 megabytes.

(2) The smallest file is 125 megabytes
Can you please share a screenshot of the question? Thank you!

If all the files are the smallest size then \(125 *6 =750. \)This already crosses the limit. But we know that all files are of different sizes. Hence rest of the files are all greater than \(125\) hence all the \(6\) files combined would be greater than \(750.\)

We can answer that the CD will not be able to hold all the six files.

Hence B should be Sufficient.

why is option a not sufficient to answer the question?

From (1), the total size of the 3 largest files is 450 megabytes. However, the total size of the 3 smallest files could be, say, 100 megabytes, giving a YES answer to the question, or 400 megabytes, giving a NO answer to the question.

Hope it helps.
