Hi Luisfgl,

I'm also curious how Pearson may help. Have you heard back from them yet?

The reason for my post is to share with you my Official Exam score compared to my previous mocks (all official), because I can't understand how my score (and therefore percentile) was so low despite having the most correct questions in Quant and Verbal of all the exams I have taken!

As you can see in the picture, in the official exam I had only 4 errors in Quant for a score of 80 and 8 errors in Verbal for a score of 78 (less than average despite a 65% correct score), which compared to my last mock I had less wrong but worse score

⬇️

And I fully understand that the scoring depends on the difficulty of the questions, but considering the behavior of the official mocks and supposedly the same algorithm as the official exam, I am very puzzled by this discrepancy in the number of correct/incorrect questions with previous exams
Hi Luisfgl,

You already know one reason, that the scoring depends on the characteristics of the questions. There's one more (possible) reason.

Luisfgl
Note 2: that unanswered DI question (and therefore its penalty) in the final exam was due to a problem with the test center because the page was down for 30 seconds and did not let me send the answer. I have already passed the case to Pearson and I am waiting for a response. Has anyone else gone through something similar?
If you lost exam time, they should offer you a free retake (or a refund). However, from what I've seen in India, Pearson will fight you every step of the way. Do let us know what they say.

Sorry about the experience Luisfgl

We don't know exactly why some people are getting low scores with just a handful of mistakes - such as 1 or 2 in a section. I don't think it is experimental questions in that quantity that are breaking things up - maybe - but I think it has more to do with the questions that are used to build the test and lack of hard questions, resulting in severe penalties for silly mistakes :(

P.S. Let me know when you hear back from Pearson about the test center issue. I am curious how they handle it. I hope professionally.   :fingers_crossed:
