Sounds like a solid profile. No idea about the rejection tho, have you applied for any other colleges btw.
No, Im planning to apply for colleges in the US though which are more tech oriented.
Do you think, reapplying for hec would be a good idea?

Don’t know about that, an applicant planning to apply for R2 here. Did you apply all by yourself or did you use a consultant?

Maybe a good consultant could help you, figure out where you went wrong. Seems like a good profile, maybe re applying would be good. Also does the HEC say reason for rejection or is it just cold rejection?

I don't think you can re-apply to Mim this year since you were rejected, you can re-apply to other programs though

Hi everyone,

Apoorva here, I was rejected by HEC Paris for the MIM Program in R1. I am confused whether I should reapply in future rounds or not. Could you please help evaluate if there's anything wrong about my profile or something that can be improved.

Indian Male, 23 years old, graduated from Mumbai University in Computer Engineering , cgpa-9.36/10.

GRE - 329/340 (162 V, 167 Q, 4 AWA), TOEFL (112)

2 year work ex as of Aug 2024, as software developer in J.P Morgan Chase, Mumbai, working in International Money Market technologies.

Also 2 internships of 3 months in data science and software engineering.

Volunteered in teaching NGOs for a year.

Wanted to pivot into consulting/ Product Management roles and entrepreneurship in tech + alternative medicine in the future.

Also suffered from severe issues leaving me bedridden in undergrad but recovered through effort and alternative treatments, defining my long term goal, added this life experience in application.

Please help with your suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I have to say, your profile seems exceptionally strong—even more so than most of ours here. In fact, you might be overqualified for the MiM program, and that could explain why you didn’t get an interview call. With an additional year of experience, you could likely be a standout candidate for the HEC MBA itself. Your profile is solid and well-rounded, so this might not be a rejection but rather a nudge toward even bigger opportunities.
Honestly, I’d suggest holding off on reapplying to the MiM at HEC. Even on their website, they advise against reapplying in the same calendar year unless there’s a significant new achievement in your profile. Consider aiming for an MBA instead—you’re well-positioned for it.
Best of luck for your future! I hope we get the chance to connect sometime and chat in more depth about your experiences.
