Let total houses be T
Houses with >= 3 floors = .3* T
Houses with < 3 floors = .7*T

Hence .7*T = 240+.3*T
Hence T = 600

Let T be the total number of houses in the town.
Let x be the number of houses with 3 or more floors.

0.3T = x

0.7T = x + 240

0.7Y = 0.3T + 240

0.4T = 240

T= 600

So Answer C.
