The average experience on campus at LBS and INSEAD is upwards of 5 years. In addition to just having the number of years, a solid career growth progression is key to even being taken seriously as an applicant.

ISB could be an option but there too you need an edge which usually comes to very young candidates (your competition group) who either come from consulting backgrounds (exposure to multiple clients/industries) or those who have worked in fast-paced startups with unique exposure to how decisions are made at the highest levels

Top B schools see a lot of pre-MBA techies/engineers applying to the program. You will have to execute your application well to stand out. You need to unpack your experiences and reconstruct your stories in a way that shows that working on high-impact projects has given you a much more hands-on experience and opportunity to engage with leaders from the industry, more experiential maturity, and more capability to contextualize business problems than most young techies who apply. Always remember that schools are spoilt for choice and they won't blink an eye before rejecting a very young applicant who has an improvement area.

I have experience with successful candidates who applied to ISB at exactly 2 years of experience so feel free to connect and discuss your chances here- MBAGuide

In your case, I feel that if you give yourself some more time to enhance your profile, you could grab projects and professional opportunities that add a new dimension to your portfolio. If you missed having this realization earlier, the profile enhancement would need to show as a take-off point in your career graph depending on your goals. For example, in a strategic role in a startup or in consulting where you get hands-on experience in the building blocks of businesses, negotiate an international assignment, or get into beginner roles in an industry you want to break into post MBA. I feel there would be no dearth of opportunities for someone young and ambitious.

Your GRE is way too low but I think you already know that.

utkarsh0206 - some thoughts and clarifications on your profile:

1. The undergrad pedigree is good, how were your grades at IIT? Your GMAT score is on the lower side for your target programs. A higher score (or switching to GRE, if need be) can improve your chances.

2. Your work-ex is on the lower side for most MBA programs abroad, which have averages around 4-5 years (or more) - check out the stats here. Having said that, I'd like to understand your work-ex better i.e. what companies, roles/ functions, were there promotions, any international exposure, etc. If your score is strong and the quality of the work-ex is high, you could give it a shot - else, waiting for a year (or more) would be prudent.

3. There's no mention of career goals or extracurriculars, but these would also be important angles.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Regards,
Arvind
