Ram mixed milk and freely available water in a ratio of 3:2, and sold it at a profit of 30%.

What will be the profit/loss percentage, if the milk and water were mixed in the ratio 4:1 and the selling price remains unchanged?

Let the cost price and selling price be c & s respectively

s = 3/5*1.3c = .78c

s = 4/5*(1+P)c = .78c

1 + P = .78*5/4 = 3.9/4 = .975

Loss = .025 = 2.5%
